Copyright
Hello everyone!
I am so excited to share with you the importance about Copyright and how we as teachers need to educate our students to cite their resources correctly. It is no surprise that the author of the original work has all the reserved rights, and in order to use their source, it must be obtained with a permission in order to display it over social media. With technology growing rapidly, students are growing up using technology, and it is important to educate them the crucial ways to cite information.

What you and I need to know about Copyright.
According to the Copyright for Tech-Enhanced Teaching (Figg, 2013), Copyright is used to determine who has the
right to copy and sell material. In this case, if you wanted to use videos, photos, music, audio recordings, print I shared, copright law is used to protect anything that belongs to me.
What I learned About Copyright and things you should learn too..
- You are not entitled to show a video in class without acquiring public performance first.
- You have to have a "Creative Commons License" that allows for distribution.
- Must pay Copyright licensing company when handing out copyrighted photocopied documents to students in class.
What to teach about Copyright to students...
- If it is not yours, it is someone else's work!
- Respect others work and creativity, don't take credit for their work!
- Be the creator!
- Ask to use their work!
- Make it original and be creative with your own work!
